MAP Project: Michigan
I am the Principal Investigator on the “The Muslims for American Progress” Project, a study produced by the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding. This project explores the myriad ways in which Muslim Americans make a positive impact on the state of Michigan. The key areas our research team is investigating are: medicine, STEM, philanthropy and non-profits, economic development, civics and democracy, education, the arts, and sports. The findings provided within final report captures both broad quantitative estimates of contribution as well as one-on-one, narrative stories which reflect the localized kind of positive influence many Muslim Michiganders have on their larger communities. The results are being shared via website, Facebook and Instagram, and will be given to elected officials and the media and will be used in multiple public education forums.
The final report, portraits, and narratives are available now at muslimsforamericanprogress.org
